Peacefully in our arms and surrounded by our love, we said good-bye to our daughter Hailey Marie on Tuesday, March 23, 2010. Hailey was born on May 11, 2009 and was with us for a very short 10 and one half months – all of it in the NICU at Children’s Hospital in Winnipeg. We knew before Hailey’s birth that she would have to face many obstacles. Hailey will always be our hero for how courageously she fought her numerous battles. In spite of these struggles, she would always flash a smile or tell a story with her expressive eyes to us and to those around her.
Hailey will be forever missed by her parents Colin and Janet (nee Debroni), her grandparents Linda Paterson and Rey Lauze, her baba and gigi Eleanore and John Debroni, her uncles and aunts Cathryn McMahon, Darrell (Debbie) Debroni, Brad (Wendy) Debroni, Lynne (Paul) Gauthier, and her cousins Nicole, Braeden, Jennifer, Sean, Bryson, Evan, Jolene and Carter, and numerous extended family, friends and her NICU family.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts to all of the NICU nurses, doctors, respiratory therapists and unit staff that cared for Hailey as if she was one of your own. Your endless love and devotion to our little girl helped make her life in the NICU as “normal” as possible.
Prayers will be sung on Sunday, March 28, 2010 at 8:00 p.m. at St. Anne Ukrainian Catholic Church, 455 Douglas Avenue. A celebration of Hailey’s life will be held on Monday, March 29, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. also at St. Anne Ukrainian Catholic Church, with interment to immediately follow at Glen Eden Memorial Gardens, 4477 Main Street. Pallbearers will be her uncles Darrell and Brad, and aunties Cathryn and Lynne. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that your support be given to the Children’s Hospital Foundation, NICU, CE501 – 840 Sherbrook Street, Winnipeg MB R3A 1S1.
“There is no foot so small that it cannot leave an imprint on this world.” We love you to the moon and back our sweet little “Hailey bean”. VICHNAYA PAMYAT.
